Technology

This mixed reality training solution combines physical examination models with digital pathology visualization to create a realistic and immersive medical training experience.

It includes technical features such as latency minimization, ambient occlusion, intuitive navigation, smooth hand overlay, and a newly developed low-latency sensor hierarchy for improved performance and user experience.

Applications

-The current proof of concept focuses on training healthcare professionals in the diagnosis of common knee joint injuries, including realistic simulation of pathologies such as cruciate ligament rupture.

-The technology helps medical students and junior staff practice clinical examination techniques repeatedly and independently of patient availability, while also improving pathophysiological understanding behind the examination process.

Technology stage

-A prototype has already been manufactured and tested in a clinical environment.

-The concept has also been presented publicly, including at the German Surgery Congress.
