Technology

This technology is an explainable AI decision-support system designed to improve therapy recommendations in oncology tumor boards.

It uses a two-stage AI process that first predicts the most relevant treatment category and then recommends a specific therapy, while an integrated dashboard shows the patient-specific factors behind each recommendation.

Applications

-The system supports clinicians in complex cancer treatment decisions by combining individualized therapy suggestions with relevant clinical study data in one transparent interface.

-It is currently validated in urological oncology, including prostate cancer, urothelial carcinoma, and renal cell carcinoma, and its underlying architecture can be extended to virtually any tumor entity once trained on the relevant patient data.

Technology stage

-The technology prototype has been developed and successfully tested on a large number of datasets, and an MVP for urological cancers is already in multicenter evaluation.

-Retrospective validation showed recommendation accuracy above 70%, reaching up to 90% depending on tumor type and recommendation level, while a prospective multicenter clinical study is ongoing.
